PizZa Buffet! Gysepies, Old Depot Restaurant

After getting all glammed up, and a quick photo session in the parking lot, we headed to downtown Colorado Springs for an amazing Italian dinner together!

Amidst candle light and great conversation, the group bonded with each other while enjoying great food!

I think they were hiding so that they didn't have to take pictures :)

Going for the Gold, The Olympic Training Center

The Olympic Training Center was nestled quietly in the middle of Colorado Springs.  From the road, it's hard to believe what all lurks behind the gates.  After watching a brief video about the Olympics and Parolympics, we were lead through the visitors center and out into the training facility.

We were able to see the gymnasium where the men's gymnastics team is training, the shooting range, the weight lifting and wrestling facilities, the swimming pool (Yes, Michael Phelps swam there), and the facility where they live and eat.  The group was amazed by the facility and what all happened in this one place.

Enjoy the pictures below as you follow us on our tour!

Flying High, at the Air Force Academy!

We were driving through Kansas, and the flat wheat fields, when suddenly the rocky mountains were right in front of our eyes!  They rose up like a giant wall reaching up into the sky!  It was such an breath taking sight to see!

Upon arriving in Colorado Springs, we went straight to the Air Force Acedemy.  We walked the trail to the Chapel and toured the amazing structure.  There was someone in thier playing the massive organ and the kids were amazed!

After touring the Chapel, we made our way back to the bookstore where we watched a brief movie on the history of the Air Force Academy and then did a little shopping.

The weather was so incredible we stopped for several photo ops, ENJOY!

There's No Place Like Kansas!

The best part of Kansas is the ride through the state!  When you come from the east, it's easy to appreciate the vast difference in the landscape.  You can see for miles and miles at a time, and the sun just glistens on the wheat fields!

After arriving in Salina on Monday evening, the group enjoyed some downtime at the hotel before going to see a movie!  Most of us went to see Super 8, but a few did choose to see Pirates of the Carribean.

We didn't stay there long, we loaded up early this morning in order to get to Colorado!  Enjoy the pictures below of the views from the bus, and a few candid ones from inside the bus!
