Locks and Overlooks!

After expereinceing the EMP, the group boarded the bus to take a step on tour of Seattle.  While we didn't see every square inch of Seattle, we did see the things that make it interesting!

Our step on guide talked to us about the city and some of the things that we passed as we made our way out to the "locks".  The locks in Seattle are very important because they keep the fresh water of the canal and the salt water of Puget Sound separated.  Boats drive into the locks, they close, and either fill or empty to the correct level needed to pass through.  We saw boats going from salt water to fresh water while we were there.  Pretty neat thing!

We also saw the salmon ladders.  They are used for the migration of the salmon from salt water to fresh water.  They salmon are headed back to rivers and streams.

After leaving the locks area, we made one last stop!  We stopped at Queen Anne's Overlook to get a good view of the city and Mount Rainer.  Boy did we have a perfect night!  They view was amazing, EMJOY!
