After leaving the Olympic Training center we were picked up by smaller, Greyline buses. These buses would be our home for 5 hours of touring fun!
Our first stop was Garden of the Gods, a national park with large unique rock formations of sandstone and limestones. Based on what they look like, some of the magnificent rocks have names such as "Kissing Camels" and "Balancing Rock". They were incredible to see up close!
Next the group made the hour long trek up to Pike's Peak. At 14,115 feet the temperature at the summit was almost 40 degrees lower than at the bottom! Snow is still on the ground, even in June. At the top, the group enjoyed a breathtaking panoramic view of the longest chain in the Rockies.
